Our Rooms

Infant Room

Our Infant Room is for babies age 6 weeks to 12 months. Everything in this room is very individualized.  The children eat and nap according to their own schedules.  Activities are planned individually based on your child's developmental needs.  The babies are encouraged to explore their environments through multi-sensory activities.  A daily note is sent home each day.  It gives details about your child's day, such as what and how much your child ate, the diapers that he or she had that day, their behavior and mood that day, and of course anything exciting that may have happened that day.

Waddler Room

Toddler Room

Our Toddler Room is for children ages 15 months to 2 years old.  The children have a little more structure in this room.  They sit together on the carpet and have short group times.  They sing songs and read books to encourage language.  The children are encouraged to use words to communicate, but we also use simple sign language and other communication tools to cut down on frustration.  The activities are designed to be language rich to encourage communication and limit tantrums.  Daily notes are sent home informing parents of what and how much the child ate, how long he or she napped, and the mood of the day.

Our Beginner Room is for children 2 years old.  We call it a Beginner Room because the children are beginning our preschool curriculum.  It is a transition between the infant and toddler activities and our preschool activities.  They will start to do calendar activities together on the rug as well as art projects, and other group time activities.  We also work on potty training in this room.  The teachers will follow the parent's lead, but will also be available to give guidance if necessary.  Daily notes are sent home to tell you about his or hers eating, napping, and diapers or potty training information.

Preschool Room

Our Preschool Room is for children age 3-4 years old.  This is the room that our preschool curriculum really gets going.  The children in this room participate in calendar, art, group, science, math and Zoo Phonics activities.  Teachers encourage manners, social skills, fine and gross motor skills, phonemic and numeric awareness.  The children have play time in different centers such as blocks, dramatic play, table toys, puzzles, sensory table, and computer.  A daily note is sent home to inform parents about eating and napping.

Our Pre-k Room is for children age 4-5 years old.  This room is designed to be the year before kindergarten.  The children have a little more structure and a little more independent work as a whole class.  They still play in centers such as puppert theater, blockss, art center, computers, and dramatic play.  Zoo Phonics is used more in this classroom.  Teachers encourage manners, social skills, fine and gross motor skills, phonemic and numeric awareness.  Daily notes are also sent home in this class informing parents of eating and napping for that day.
